We may be just a month behind the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Samsung is expected to bring the phone out of curtains at MWC, 2016. Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, while being the next flagships will carry a handful of new features, improvements and enhancements. We updated our users with all the information available until a few days back in our post Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge News, Rumours, Specs, Release Date & Price. In just a span of 2 or 3 weeks, a plethora of news, rumours has emerged up that makes the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge look like something really impressive. New information about the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is bundled up here.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Renders Surfaced Today
A number images have surfaced today. The images appear to be the renders of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The renders have been designed based on the dimensions and specifications displayed by the Samsung Galaxy 7, S7 Edge accessory and case makers. According to the leaked renders, the Galaxy S7’s dimensions are 142.5 mm x 69.5 mm x 7.9 mm. These dimensions make this device around 1 mm thicker than the Galaxy S6. The reason may be the battery bump in this device.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will have microSD card slot, screen sizes and prices confirmed
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge both will have a microSD card slot. The confirmation comes from one of Sammobile’s trusted sources. Sammobile’s source also claims that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be available in screen sizes of 5.1 and 5.5-inch respectively. This may be a good news for the users who do not want to wait for the next Galaxy Note and want to get their hands on a bigger Galaxy flagship only if the Edge version suites them. Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge’s 32 GB model will cost around $750 and $860 respectively. The 64 GB models will likely cost $80 – $100 extra. Both these smartphones are expected to launch at MWC, 2016. These smartphones are also expected to go on sale within the next month.
Samsung removed the microSD card slot from the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 to keep the devices sleek. This reason brought Samsung in the talks of critics once again. Many of the users didn’t find themselves convinced enough to upgrade to the Galaxy S6 and Note 5 because of this certain reason. Samsung is going to try its best to convince the users to upgrade their smartphones now.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be IP67 certified and have larger batteries
Another rumour claims that both these flagships will be IP67 certified which means these devices will be water resistant. While this information is a bit foggy, we would like you to keep the salt container with you in case it puts you in the need of a pinch of salt.
Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are expected to have 3000 mAh and 3600 mAh batteries. If samsung is going to offer this battery capacity, it sure will give a reason to so many users to upgrade to these devices. Samsung has been compressing the battery capacity in its flagship devices unveiled in the recent past.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will have a 12 MP Camera
An image popped up on reddit showing the hardware details of a 5.7 inch Galaxy flagship. The smartphone is likely to be Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Plus. The image shows that Galaxy S7 will sport a 12 MP shooter at its back. Samsung was reportedly working on a 12 MP shooter with a larger sensor as compared to that of the 16 MP shooter on the S6 and S6 Edge. A larger sensor means better and higher image quality, the number of pixels do not matter when it comes to the sensor size. So, if Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a 12 MP shooter, it may not be something to be surprised about. There’s a number of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge screen sizes making rounds in the rumour mills. We are not certain if there will be a 5.7-inch variant of the Galaxy S7 or not. We would recommend taking this information with a pinch of salt as well.
