The CF-Auto-Root tool installed and enabled SuperSU on your device — you can see it now as an application available from your app drawer. That same SuperSU is going to grant the rooting permissions to any app that requests the same. In addition to granting access to apps, it is going to block any apps that could be malware. How To Install Android Marshmallow on Galaxy S2 (GT-I900) With CM13

How To Install Android Marshmallow on Galaxy S2 (GT-I900) With CM13

Hello Friends, Today i am going to tell you How To Install Android Marshmallow on Galaxy S2 (GT-I900) With CM13. This is the best way To Install Android Marshmallow on Galaxy S2 (GT-I900) With CM13. So you can check How To Install Android Marshmallow on Galaxy S2 (GT-I900) With CM13 Below Here. Galaxy S2 is one of the most sold Samsung phones, it began the revolution in  the smartphone world. It was one of the best Android phones to own at that time. It had decent hardware that gave a good performance. After almost five years since it has been released, it may not have the specifications as compared to today’s flagship devices but it is still a usable device, especially if you are rocking a custom ROM. But due to efforts of developers at XDA, you can now install Android M on your Galaxy S2.

Galaxy S2 came installed with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread back in 2011. Over the years, it received the official updates up to Android 4.1 Jellybean. But no further updates were provided for the device by Samsung due to lacking internals and two-year support for system updates. But again, thanks to XDA developers, Galaxy S2 has received many Android updates in the form of custom ROMs.

Well, if you still have the device lying around or perhaps are using it as a daily driver, there is a good news for you. You can now try the latest iteration of Android on your Galaxy S2 by installing CM13. CM13 is a popular custom ROM developed by CyanogenMOd developers, it is basically a customized version of Android just like Touchwiz. CM13 gives you some cool features and an almost stock Android look like a Nexus device. It is based on the latest version of Android, i.e. Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.

Marshmallow brings some performance optimizing features with some battery optimizations and some minor visual changes as compared to its previous version Lollipop. App permissions, Doze and Google Now on Tap are some new features introduced in Android M.

To install CM13 on your device, you would need a custom recovery install on your Galaxy S2. So make sure before proceeding with this guide you have a custom recovery installed on your device.

Warning: Any harm to your device will only be your responsibility, we or the devs should not be held responsible. Make sure to make ROM/Nandroid backups before installing any custom files on your device, so that you can restore to your previous ROM if something goes wrong.

Install Android Marshmallow on Galaxy S2
Download CM-13.0-XXXXXXXX-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip from the link given above and copy it to your sd card.
Make sure you’re using a KitKat Compatible Recovery.
Boot your device into Recovery mode.
Wipe all your data.
Flash CM-13.0-XXXXXXXX-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip from sd card.
(Optional)Now you may flash Google Apps.zip from sd card in a similar manner.
Reboot your device.

Note: If you get an error message when flashing GApps, you’re probably running out of space in your /system partition. It is recommended to have 1GB to fit the ROM and the GApps ( The stock partition table has 512mb for /system). This thread, by gsstudios, has a good guide for repartitioning.

Root is disabled by default on CyanogenMod 13. To enable it you will have to go to Settings>Developer Options>Root access and set to Apps only or Apps and ADB.

You must have a Windows computer to use this guide. The Odin flashing tool will not flash your CF-Auto-Root file from a different operating system.

BEFORE WE BEGIN
Download the Samsung USB Drivers and install them on your Windows computer before you start the guide. Having the drivers running will ensure your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 device is talking to the computer and its programs properly so you can use the guide. Most problems people have with files not flashing are due to the fact that the drivers are not working.
We recommend waiting for a while if your device has just received a new update. The reason you should wait is because this rooting exploit is based on the LMY47X.N910FXXS1COK2 firmware for Android 5.1.1. newer software updates can come with new bootloader which cause the rooting exploit to not work and the device to not boot. people must submit the new recovery.img to Chainfire’s official CF-Auto-Root thread at XDA Developers. He will then update the file so it starts working again. These new bootloaders usually are required to be unlocked after upgrades to newer Android versions.

You must have the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with the model number SM-N910C to follow this guide. Any other model number will probably get bricked if you follow this guide.
You can always check what your model number is by tapping on the Note 4’s Menu > Settings > About Device > Model Number.
You must have a Windows computer in order to follow this guide. You cannot flash the firmware using the Odin flash tool unless your computer is running Windows.

BEFORE WE BEGIN
Download the Samsung USB Drivers for mobile phones from our USB Driver page. Anyone who has not updated the drivers recently should do that before starting the guide.
Enable the Developer Options on your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone by tapping over the Menu > Settings > About Device > Build Number. keep tapping that Build Number and it will say you are using the device as a developer. Now that Developer Options is ready.
Enable the USB Debugging Mode from the Developer Options on your Note 4 device by tapping on the Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging Mode.
Any device that has root access should update manually the same way as below and not accept OTA notifications. Once you apply the steps below, your Note 4 will no longer be rooted and you can accept OTA notifications in the future. That only changes if you decide to root the device after applying this update.

HOW TO UPDATE SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 4 SM-N910C TO ANDROID 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP

Download the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Note 4 N910C from this link.
Download the Odin flash tool for your Note 4 from this link.
Extract the files to the desktop of your computer by right-clicking and selecting the “extract here” option.
Press the Power button on your Note 4 device once and select “Power Off” from the Device Options menu.
Boot the Note 4 in download mode now by pressing the Power + Home + Volume Down buttons.
Let go of the three said buttons and just press the Volume Up button by itself when it says to do so on the display.
Connect the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to the computer with the USB cable you use to charge the battery on your device.
Click the PDA button and upload your firmware file from the desktop — you need to have extracted it and only once.
Do not change any of the default settings from the Odin flash tool user-interface; download afresh copy if you need it.
Click the Start button from the Odin app on the computer and it will now flash that Android 5.5.1 firmware file on your device.
Wait until the Odin app on the computer gives you the pass message and your Note 4 device reboots before you unplug from the computer and close down Odin.
You should find your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C is now available to be rooted on the CF-Auto-Root tool by Chainfire if you want to customize your device.
